Find me on Substack
This month I spontaneously decided to join Substack and it’s been so uplifting. This platform is so unlike the other social media platforms I frequent. I feel as though I can breath, think and be free with my expression there, whilst not having this weight on my shoulders to “perform” for adoration of likes, shares and followers.
I decided to start a Substack account, as an outlet, a place where I could write my thoughts as I digest the esoteric and historic material I’ve been researching and studying. At the moment, my personal studies are taking me into the Mother Goddess mythology that goes back, if we are taking into account the remaining archeological artefacts, back to the Paleolithic times (30-40,000 years ago). I’m overlaying this study with multiple lenses, (I like to refer to it as a prismic mindset). One such lens is through astrocosmology, symbology, folklore, art and alchemy.
My aim with this research holds both a personal intention, but also the hope that I can inject more meaning and intention through the symbolism of the photographic imagery I create for myself and for clients. Studying esoteric symbolism has really emphasised to me how much of human psychology and existence lies in iconography, that symbols are still a powerful way to communicate, as one motif can express multiple meanings, more than words can. As they say an image is worth a thousand words and now I can fully appreciate that expression.
